Overview

This course is designed to gain entry to the Electronic Industry. The course will develop the following skills:

  • Soldering
  • Autodesk Fusion electronics software
  • Circuit construction
  • Fault finding.

Objectives:

  • Understand the principles of electronic systems and their applications
  • Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills on electronic systems
  • Design and install electronic projects.

Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to explain the fundamental concepts of electronic systems and their applications
  • Students will be able to design basic electronic systems  
  • Students will be able to build electronic systems.

Key information

No formal entry requirements. Subject to interview.

Students will build a portfolio of evidence that could be used to advance onto a full- or part-time programme.

Assessment:

  • Practical assignments throughout the course.

Staying with the College, you could progress on to level 2/3 EAL electronics programmes.
